My career has revolved around helping people decipher the seemingly complex, first with technology and now also with food. While my passions may seem incongruous, I enjoy both fields for the same reason – they are constantly changing and there is always something new to learn. Whether I’m in a corporate classroom explaining how to use a piece of software or writing about a farmer who is innovating with a particular crop, my goal is to help people live a better, more fulfilled life by embracing something new.
I write two food blogs Ditch the Box and Kristi’s Farm to Table (formerly Austin Farm to Table) and am a regular contributor to Edible Austin, Austin Woman Magazine and the Living the EDGE technology and productivity blog for The Effective Edge. I also serve as the Evernote Ambassador for food writing, through which I get to combine my love of food and technology to help other food writers streamline their workflow.
After hearing form other food writers that they needed help picking and making sense of their technology tools, I started Food Writer’s Toolbox, a series of online technology courses geared toward the business of food writing.
For my corporate clients, I use my writing skills and extensive learning and development background to create and deliver engaging training experiences with outstanding results.
In my spare time, I am a dedicated aunt and a volunteer for local non-profits like Austin Food & Wine Alliance and Foodways Texas.
